Why we're doing this
Recorder Hero is played by real people in homes and classrooms around the world, and we'd love to show that: an in-game video of real players, each with their own recorder, playing together from many countries. It will probably become a clip, for our site, our ads and our videos. We can't promise anything yet, but if and when it comes out, we'll send it to you.
What you get
- Every Recorder Hero song pack, free and yours to keep: Christmas carols, timeless hits, songs from around the world, national anthems, half-holes and high notes. That's the Everything bundle, worth €14.99.
- A chance to appear in our in-game video of real players from all over the world, and in our demos and ads: maybe a few seconds, maybe a single frame. We can't promise you'll be used, and you might not be at all. If the video comes out, we'll send it to you.
- Your own videos, to watch and download in your editing room.
Who we're looking for
- Adults, 18 or older, who have a soprano recorder (the school kind).
- Any level. Beginners are great: the lessons start from the first note.
- People who like being on camera, or at least don't mind it: content creators, streamers, actors, parents, teachers, anyone who loves trying things and getting free stuff.
- Anywhere in the world, on a computer, tablet or phone with a camera and a microphone.
How it works
- Sign in free to Recorder Hero with your email (one account per person).
- Read and sign the release below: you're 18 or older, and you agree to appear in our demos and ads, with the song packs as your one-time payment. You're now a recorder.
- Open Recorder Hero and tap ● Record on the start screen, then play. The game records your camera picture, your playing and the game, the way you see yourself in it. Your camera and microphone must both be on: if either goes off, the recording stops. Record as many times as you like.
- Your editing room, on this page: every recording waits there, only for you. Watch them, download them, remove the ones you don't like.
- Choose what to send: up to 10 recordings, with at least two different lessons played to the end. Nothing reaches Head Arcade until you press Send.
- Pending: a person at Head Arcade watches what you sent. Meanwhile your editing room says Pending, and you can't change what you sent.
- Approved: every song pack appears in your account and we email you a thank-you. That's the end of your part: you become a regular player again and can't record any more.
- Not approved: we email you why, and you can record again and send new recordings. If what you sent breaks the rules (a child in the picture, nudity, anything illegal), we email you why and your part ends: no more recording.
What's in the picture
- Only you: no one under 18 in the picture or heard, and nobody who hasn't agreed.
- Dressed for a video call, in your own space, with nothing illegal or offensive in view.
- Decent light on your face and hands, and a quiet room, so we see and hear you well.
- Just you and your recorder: no music playing in the background.

The release you sign
Please read it all: it's what you agree to when you sign.
Who. Head Arcade (Gil Rimon), Moinho do Bispo, 8670-052 Aljezur, Portugal ("we"), and you, the adult who signs below with the account you're signed in with.
What we record. Each time you choose to record in Recorder Hero, the game records what it shows and hears: your camera picture (your face, hands and body as they appear in the game), the sound (your recorder, and your voice if you speak), the game on screen, and which lessons you play. Nothing is recorded unless you tap ● Record.
Your editing room. Your recordings are uploaded to your own editing room, kept privately on our servers, where only you see them: you can watch, download and remove them. You choose which to send us (up to 10, with at least two different lessons played to the end), and only what you send reaches our team. What you don't send is deleted when your part ends: when we review what you sent, or 30 days after the offer ends.
Why. We want to make an in-game video of our real players, with real recorders, playing Recorder Hero together from all over the world: probably a clip, and other promotional material. We don't promise to make it or to include you; if it comes out and you're in it, we'll send it to you.
What we may do with it. We may use the recordings, and pictures from them, to make that video, demos, adverts, videos and other promotional material for Head Arcade and its products (Recorder Hero, Potato Flute and our games), and to test and improve them. We may edit, cut, crop, combine, caption and translate them, and publish them in any media (websites, social media, app stores, video platforms, print), worldwide. We may also never use them. We won't sell or license your recordings to other companies for their own use.
Your name. We won't show your name or your email address with your image unless you agree separately.
What we keep about you. With your recordings we keep, for our team: your typed name, your email address, your account's language, the country you signed and recorded from, when you signed and recorded, which app and which lessons each recording shows, and our review. We use it to organize and find recordings. We may show your country and your language with your image (for example "a player in Brazil, playing in Portuguese"); everything else stays with our team and is never shown with your image, and we only ever publish parts of the videos themselves.
Your payment. When we approve your recordings, you get every Recorder Hero song pack (the Everything bundle, worth €14.99) in your account, once. This is your whole payment for the recordings and their use: there's no other fee, royalty or payment, now or later.
One per person. The payment is once per person. Recording again from another account or email gives no further benefit. If we find that the same person took part with more than one account, we may remove the packs from the other accounts.
What may be in the picture. Only you, an adult: no one under 18 may appear in or be heard in the recordings, and no one who hasn't agreed. Be dressed as for a video call, in your own space, with nothing illegal, offensive or private in view, and no music playing in the background. Recordings that don't keep to this aren't approved.
The review. A person at Head Arcade watches the recordings you sent; until then they're pending, and you can't change them. Approved: you're paid as above, and your part ends: you become a regular player, and recording is no longer available on your account. Not approved: we email you why, delete the recordings you sent, and you can record and send again. If what you sent breaks the rules on what may be in the picture (a child, nudity, anything illegal or offensive), we email you why, delete the recordings, and your part ends with no payment: recording is no longer available on your account.
How long. Approved recordings may be used without a time limit. You can ask us at any time to stop using them in new material (contact@recorderhero.com): we'll stop within 30 days, but material already published may stay. The song packs stay yours either way.
Interviews (optional). If you tick the interview box and join the Friends of Recorder Hero after approval, a few short questions may appear on screen now and then, and your answers on camera are recorded for us. You can skip any question or the whole interview, and turn interviews off any time. We watch the answers only to understand our players and improve Recorder Hero: we won't publish them or use them in any video unless you give us separate permission later.
Your data. We keep the recordings privately and handle them as our privacy policy says, with your rights under the GDPR. We keep this signature (your typed name, the date, your account and this text's version) as the record of our agreement, and email you a copy.
The offer. Open to adults (18 or older) until 1 January 2027, 00:00 (Lisbon time): sign and send two full, different lessons before then. Recorder Hero only, for now.
Law. Portuguese law applies, without taking away any protection the law of your country gives you.

Only you see these. Watch, download or remove them, then choose what to send: up to 10 recordings, with at least two different lessons played to the end. Nothing reaches Head Arcade until you press Send.
Questions
- Is it really free?
- Yes. It costs nothing to take part. Your payment is every Recorder Hero song pack (worth €14.99), given once, when we approve your recordings. There's no money, and nothing to buy.
- Who sees my recordings?
- Only you, until you send them. They wait in your editing room on this page, where you can watch, download or remove each one. Only the recordings you choose and send reach our team.
- Can I record again after I'm approved?
- No. Recording is for the Player Video: once your recordings are approved and the song packs are yours, you become a regular player again. So choose your best takes before you send.
- Will I definitely be in the video or an ad?
- No. We're looking for players for an in-game video of real players from all over the world, and for demos and ads, all still being made: you might be in one for a few seconds, or as a single frame, or not at all. If and when the video comes out, we'll send it to you. Either way, the song packs are yours once your recordings are approved.
- Do I have to play well?
- No. Real people learning are exactly what we want to show. Play the lessons to the end, any level.
- Why must I be 18 or older?
- Because you're agreeing to appear in ads. Children can learn with Recorder Hero, but the Player Video is for grown-ups only, and no child may appear in the recording.
- Can I take part twice?
- No: one person, one account, one payment. Recording again with another email gives nothing more, and if we see the same person on two accounts, we may remove the packs from the second.
- What if my recordings aren't approved?
- We email you why, we delete the recordings you sent, and you can record and send again. Only if what you sent breaks the rules (a child in the picture, nudity, anything illegal or offensive) does your part end: we email you why, and recording is no longer available on your account.
- Can I change my mind later?
- You can ask us at any time to stop using your recordings in anything new: write to contact@recorderhero.com. Ads already published may stay, and the song packs stay yours.
- Where do my recordings go?
- First to your editing room, kept privately on our servers and seen only by you. The ones you send go to Head Arcade's team only. What you don't send is deleted when your part ends. Our privacy policy says how we keep them and what your rights are.
